The Speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
An Invitation from Carl Lindskoog on an upcoming discussion on the speeches of Martin Luther King, Jr.
What can we learn from examining Martin Luther King, Jr.'s 1967 speeches?
In the last ear of his life, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was deeply troubled by the injustices he saw in the United States: persistent racism and racial violence, entrenched poverty and economic inequality, and imperial violence and the war in Vietnam. How can we get to the root of these interlocking problems,he wondered? What is the solution?
In two probing and prophetic statements from 1967, King grappled with these questions. What can we learn from King's diagnosis of the American condition, and how might his vision for the future be relevant in 2025 and beyond?
Please join us for a two-part discussion of portions of King's speeches from 1967, facilitated by Dr. Carl Lindskoog.
